Wedding: Meghan & Chien
I had the honor of creating my brother's wedding invitations, so I went all out! The wedding took place at the Seattle Aquarium, so naturally, the entire set is ocean-themed. The invitations themselves are a combination of silver foil stamp and color printed onto cardstock, then glued onto a shimmery ocean blue card pocket, sealed with custom-made wax stamps. Inlaid on top of that is a laser cut art nouveau border of glitter vinyl paper, with Chinese characters that signify "double happiness". It is adhered with thick adhesive pads, so the piece is slightly raised from the invite. In the pockets, are cards detailing the specifics of the wedding, the RSVP card, and mailing envelope. The invites are placed in shimmery black envelopes lined with printed Japanese paper. I also designed the wedding program, with the backside mirroring the frontside, so it appears as if the program is being viewed underwater from either side. A digitally painted menu card was made for each table, and place cards were hand-painted and hand-written for each guest.
